Up-country Lions SC concluded the Pre-League Football Tournament with a comfortable 4-2 win over Sea Hawks SC in their match played at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo yesterday.
The winners led 1-0 at half time. Kavindu Ishan scored a goal each during each half.
He cleared a penalty-kick in the 25th minute of to first half after a Sea Hawks SC player was penalised for a hand ball inside the box area.
Japanese player M. Kanehiro scored for Sea Hawks SC in the 57 minute but M. A. C. Wickremasinghe’s goal put the winners in front.
Thereafter, Danushka Madushanka scored for Sea Hawks SC in the 82nd minute before M. Nithrashan added the finishing touches for Up-Country Lions SC with the fourth goal in the 85th minute.
