Sri Lanka discard Dhananjaya Lakshan hit a fine 63 in 47 balls inclusive of three sixes and one boundary as Colts CC beat Bloomfield by 20 runs in their SLC Twenty20 Cricket Tournament fixture played at the CCC Grounds in Maitland Crescent yesterday.
Colts CC were struggling at 69 for four after 11 overs but promising all-rounder Lakshan showed his batting prowess and helped his team to rebuild the innings. Bloomfield in reply, made a solid start through their openers Kasun Ekanayake (18) and Dilhan Cooray (15) but leg-spinner Saranga Rajaguru produced a tidy spell of three for 22 as Bloomfield were restricted to 126 for six wickets from their 20 overs.
Meanwhile, CCC beat Kandy Customs CC by four wickets while Chilaw Marians CC defeated Police SC by 34 runs.
In addition, Army SC recorded an easy seven-wicket win over Sebastianites CC at Katunayaka.
