The 36th Senior and Intermediate National Rowing Championships conducted by the Amateur Rowing Association of Sri Lanka commenced at the Diyavanna Rowing Centre, yesterday.
The event was declared open by Rohan Fernando, the Past President of the Amateur Rowing Association of Sri Lanka and the Chairman of Sri Lanka Telecom.
The qualifying races were held yesterday with the participation of 200 athletes from the Tri Forces, the Kotelawela Defence University, Colombo Rowing Club, Bolgoda Rowing Club, University of Colombo, and the University of Moratuwa.
Today is the final day of the tournament.
The events are scheduled to be held in the morning and in the evening at the same venue.
