The Men’s and Women’s marathon events of the 46th National Sports Festival (NSF) will be held at Kataragama today.
The 42km marathon will start at 5.30 a.m. for both Men and Women from opposite the Kataragama Central Bus Stand.
The competitors will proceed along with Debarawewa Clock Tower, Tissamaharama Bridge, and will return to finish from opposite the Kataragama Central Bus Stand.
A total of 85 Men and 40 Women will compete in the marathon event.
Meanwhile, the Men’s 20km race walking event will be worked off tomorrow (27) at Kataragama commencing at 6.00 a.m while the Women’s 20km race walking event will commence at the same venue at 6.30 a.m.
A total of 100 Men and 40 Women will take part in the race walking event.
The Men’s and Women’s cycling race of the NSF will be held on Monday (29) from opposite the Kataragama Central Bus Stand.
A record number of 270 riders will compete in the Men’s race while 40 competitors are expected to compete in the Women’s event.
The Men’s race will cover a distance of 158.8km while the Women’s event will cover a distance of 79.4km.
