Kapilasena bags U-12 Tennis title

Saha Kapilasena put up a pleasing performance to win the Boys’ Under-12 Singles title at the SSC Open Tennis Tournament, which continued at the SSC Courts in Maitland Place yesterday.

The schoolboy from Elizabeth Moir School rallied around magnificently and went on to beat Jayen De Saram in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 in the final encounter.

Results:

(Boys’ Under-12 Singles final): Saha Kapilasena beat Jayen De Saram 6-3, 6-4.

(Girls’ Under-14 Singles semi-finals): Dulkini Ranasinghe beat Jayami Thambuge 6-7 (5), 7-5, 10-7. Arushi Thomas beat Oneli de Silva 4-6, 7-5, 10-7.
