Colombo Masters overcame Ambalangoda Masters by five wickets, in a 35 over game which was played at Ambalangoda recently.
In an invitation from the Ambalangoda Masters, Colombo Masters, President. Mahes de Zoysa took an interest in playing the game on their ground, Ambalangoda Masters batting first, made a respectable total with P.Milton stroking a gallant 99 not out, just missing his century by one run and was well supported by R.M.Jayantha, S.Hewawasam, S.Mohan, P.Weerasinghe and S.Senanayake reaching double figures with Amal Karunaratne claiming 3 wickets and Chaminda Rajapaksa two wickets.
In the run chase, Ex Tamil Union Cricketer, Suranjith Dharmasena taking control of the bowlers, played a patient knock scoring 74 runs and 63year old Rohan Raj Perera, former Kingswoodian Cricketer of repute,coming all the way from Dambulla to take part in this game showed his talent at that age, stroking a fluent 54 runs and went back to the pavilion retired hurt and contributions from Lasantha Perera, Palitha Liyanage, and Chaminda Rajapaksa who was 24 not out sealed the victory with one over to spare. Chamara Silva and R.M. Jayantha were the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets apiece.
