Chilaw Marians snatch thrilling one-run win against Galle CC

Defending champions Chilaw Marians CC had a close call as they pulled off an exciting one-run win over Galle CC in their SLC Major Club Limited Over Cricket Tournament fixture played at the Galle Stadium yesterday.

Chilaw Marians CC made 241 for five in 41 overs with Kasun Vidura stroking a fluent century while Lasith Croospulle scored a valuable 54.

In reply, Galle CC produced a fine batting performance before they eventually fell short by one run despite two fighting half centuries from Eranga Rathnayake (59) and Raju Gayashan (55).

Meanwhile, Charith Asalanka scored an unbeaten 178 to help SSC record a convincing victory over Police SC in a high-scoring game played at the SSC Grounds in Maitland Place.
