Arundi Beminiwatte of Minneriya Primary School won the CFSL Online Youth Under-10 Girls’ Chess Championship conducted by the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka.
She scored six and a half points out of seven games convincingly and was unbeaten throughout the tournament.
Meanwhile, Oshini Gunawardena of Ferguson High School was placed second after a tie-break with six points. Sasmi Sithumsa of Lyceum, Ratnapura won third place since her tie-break points were poor after tying with six points to the second place. Mihelee Vihara Warnasooriya of Maliyadeva Balika Vidyalaya also scored six points but had to be satisfied with the fourth place due to the poor tie-breaking points.
