Vinuda Liyanage produced a fine all-round performance as St. Peter’s College defeated St. John’s College, Jaffna by 141 runs in their Inter-Schools Under-19 limited over cricket encounter played at Bambalapitiya yesterday.
The Peteries scored 225 for eight from their allotted 50 overs and in reply, the visitors were bundled out for 84 runs in just 22.1 overs.
Liyanage top scored with 45 in 38 balls inclusive of three fours and a six and the right-arm medium paceman followed up with figures of three for 30.
Meanwhile, Thurstan College took major honors in their traditional match against Ananda College, which ended in a draw at Ananda Mawatha yesterday.
