Neyara Weerawansa and Tuvini De Alwis celebrate their win

Neyara Weerawansa and Tuvini De Alwis powered their way into the semi-finals of the Women’s Doubles on the fourth day of the Colombo Open Tennis Tournament, which continued at the SLTA Courts in Green Path yesterday.

The favourites lived up to expectations as they defeated the combination of Yasodara Koralage and Shehara Medawala in straight sets 6-1, 6-1.

The results

Men’s Doubles (quarter-finals): Dumindu Dilum and Luca Knese beat Michael Siyaguna and M. Nishendiran 6-3, 6-3. Kavisha Rathnayake and Akila Vimukthi beat H.Parameshwaran and Rayan Bentharage 6-1,6-4.

Women’s Doubles (quarter-finals): Neyara Weerawansa and Tuvini De Alwis beat Yasodara Koralage and Shehara Medawala 6-1, 6-1. Saajida Razick and Dinethya Dharmarathne beat Vishmi Serasinghe and Nesangi Hemakumara 5-7, 6-1, 12-8. Janali Manamperi and Savini Jayasuriya beat Oneli Perera and Sethmi Sumanaweera 6-0, 5-7, 10-7.
