Ten year old Thiramunige Yahamvi Thinara is an up and coming Volleyball Player of Dhammissara National School Nattandiya. She was admitted to the Primary Section of Dhammissara National School in 2016 and the Head Mistress was Mrs. Samantha Uralagamage. The Principal was Sumanapala de Silva and her first class teacher was Mrs. Piyumali.
When Yahamvi was in Grade Three at the School Annual Inter House Sports Meet. She did Long Jump and came first. In the following year in the under 9 age group she came first in Long Jump and ended up second in High Jump. In 2018 in the same age category she did 60, 100 and Long Jump and swept the board and became the under 10 Champion and from there she proceeded to the Divisional Meet and she came first in Long Jump
In the meantime she represented the Volleyball Team under Harsha Gihan and the Teacher in Charge was Mrs. Uthpala and in 2018 she participated in the Inter House Volleyball Tournament in the under 9 age group and in 2019 representing the under 11 team her school emerged All Island Volleyball Champion Runner Up in the tournament held at Maharagama. She passed last year's Grade Five Scholarship Examination and her parents Pathmalal Suraweera and Nadeesha Darshani decided to keep their daughter at the Senior School of Dhammissara National School.
