LR Cricket Academy emerge champions

Lucky Rogers (LR) Cricket Academy emerged champions of the 4th Amal Rodrigo Challenge Trophy Under 15 Inter Academy 30 overs Cricket tournament on Sunday.

LR Cricket Academy beat DM Cricket Academy by two wickets in the final played at Moratu Vidyalaya ground on Sunday.

Dilshan Mendis (DM) Cricket Academy won the toss and elected to bat first. DM Cricket Academy was bowled out for133 runs in 22.3 overs. Kanchuka De Livera scored 84 runs. Ramiru Perera took 4 wickets for 12 runs. Kavindu Dias and Ranuka Malaviarachchi took two wickets each.

LR Cricket Academy scored 135 runs for 8 wickets in 28.2 overs. Thisal Dewmith (31) and Yenula Dewthusa (22*) helped build their innings. Yachindra Siriwardhane took 3 wickets for 9 runs. Akindu Weerasooriya and Dilruk Silva took two wickets each. Roger Wiejsuriya, former Sri Lankan Cricketer and veteran Cricket coach and Nishan Madhshka Fernando, Sri Lanka youth cap participated at the awards ceremony.
