Hasali Gajaba cruises into semi-finals

Hasali Gajaba cruised into the semi-finals of the Women’s Open Singles when she defeated Vonara de Alwis in straight sets on day-five of the Sri Lanka National Tennis Championships, which continued at the SLTA Courts in Green Path yesterday.

Hasali clinched the opening set 6-0 without conceding a point to her opponent and added the finishing touches by claiming the second set 6-1 in style.

Meanwhile, the fourth quarter-final of the Men’s Open Singles between Savith Weerasinghe and Sankha Athukorala was put off for today due to bad weather. (A.N)
