Ace Capital Cricket Club will make their debut in the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) organised Premier League Tier ‘B’ Inter-Club Tournament which is set to get underway later this year.

The club was of course, formed as the Seeduwa/Raddoluwa Cricket Club in 1989 and was later, renamed as Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) Cricket Club.

In 2011, there was an agreement that if the SLPA withdraws from the cricket club, the club would be then handed over to its former staff.

Accordingly, this year the SLPA administration transferred the cricket club back to its former staff and subsequently the club was renamed as Ace Capital Cricket Club.

“We are hoping to move forward with a new face and renewed enthusiasm while providing more opportunities for youngsters,” said Dr.Priyath Wickrama, the newly elected President of ACCC.

Meanwhile, former Sri Lanka Under-19, Sri Lanka ‘A’ Team and Sri Lanka Board XI player, Omesh Wijesiriwardena will be the head coach of the ACCC for this season. Wijesiriwardena has played in 84 First-Class matches and has represented several leading clubs including Bloomfield, Chilaw Marians CC, Moors SC, Singha SC, SLPA CC and Tamil Union in the Premier Tournament.
