Sachin De Silva produced a pleasing performance to top the leaderboard and emerge as the overall gross winner at the Huawei Golf Tournament 2020, which teed off at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) Course.
In the Ladies category, Yun Jeong Choi was the winner of both nett and gross events while Jin Park was the runner-up in the gross event.
Meanwhile, Holiang Jiang emerged as the overall net winner within all Divisions. The nett winner of the 0-9 handicap event in Division ‘A’ was A. Mahinda while Kushal Johnpillai was the runner-up.
Sachin De Silva (72 gross) won the handicap 0-9 gross in Division ‘A’ while Gerard Fernando won the handicap 10-18 nett in Division ‘B’ and also 10-18 gross in Division ‘B’. Reshan Algama was the runner-up in the same category.
Holiang Jiang won the handicap 19-28 nett event under Division ‘C’ while Ehantha Sirisena was the runner-up. He also emerged victorious in the handicap 19-28 gross in Division ‘C’ with a gross score of 84.
Prasanna Goonatileke was the winner of the senior nett category while Ranjit Perera was the runner-up and Sarath Wickramaratne won the senior gross event. Meanwhile, in the Masters category, Lal Dias was the winner of both Masters nett and Masters gross events while B. M. R. Preena was the runner-up in the Masters nett event.
Over 300 top golfers participated in this path-breaking two-day tournament, which featured categories as Masters, Handicap, Senior and Ladies.
