2012 Batch champions of Old Rajans Cricket Tournament

The Old Rajans Six-a-side cricket tournament was held at the Prisons grounds comprising over thirty teams. organized by Dharmaraja Old Boys Association headed by Tissa Jayaisnghe with the 2012 batch emerging as champions and the 1997 batch taking the second place. This touenament was held with the aim of developing friendship between the alumni branches and teams of the school. This was the first time that a one-day six a side tournament was played.

The organizing committee comprising of Tissa Jayasinghe the president of the OBA, Vice Pres ident Dananjaya Panangala Secretary Dr Sumeda Botota Assistant secretary Asanga Dissanayake, Treasurer Chandima Etampawala and past presidents - Senarath Jayasundara, Sarath Fernando, Priyantha Abeykoon, Anura Fernando, Nilan Kolagolla, Shiral Dissanayake, Kasun Bowala , Janaka Gaminirathne, Dammika Herath, Dr Sudesh Dharmasuriya, Palitha Gunasekara, P K Nanayakkara and Eranga Gunaratne gave a big hand for this tournament.

The 2012 batch comprising players like Chanuka Ranatunga, Upulitha Rajapakshe, Kavinda Ratnayaka, Gihan Seneviratna, Wanuka Galahitiyawa and Nipun Herath emerged champions .. the runner-up up was the 1997 batch, which team comprised players like Janaka Gaminirathna, Amal Hemantha Silva, Sampath Wijerathna, Chanaka Roshan Kumara, Dilshan Wickramasinghe and G.L. Jayasinghe.

The best batsmen award went to the highest sixes scorer Kavishka Dissanayake, Best Bowler - Gihan Seneviratna who was the top wicket taker and the man of the match award was won by Chanaka Ranatunga.
