KDCA to conduct seminar for Umpires and Scorers

The management of the Kandy District Cricket Association (KDCA) are making arrangements to conduct a seminar for persons who are interested to become Umpires and Scorers in the District of Kandy. This is a good break for the youngsters to take up umpiring and scoring.

To be a good umpire you have to be a good person, have good people skills and have good values. Those are the things people can constantly improve upon. So it is really important going forward that KDCA look at the right style of person to be a match official. Not everybody is suited because it is a very demanding and challenging role. There are a number of skills required to become a scorer in cricket and KDCA are here to help to get to grips with all of them from the very basics, to advanced techniques.

If any of the cricketers are keen and interested they are requested to contact the following at your earliest to earn a berth to be a participant at the seminar: Roland Perera, President KDCA on 0770394141, Secretary Janaka Pathirana on 0777696666 and also the officer at the KDCA office at Asgiriya on 0812315737.
