Royal thump newcomers from Padukka

Royal College, Colombo beat newcomers, Siri Piyarathana Vidyalaya team from Padukka, by seven wickets in their inter-school under-17 division one cricket tournament played at Padukka.

Batting first, the Padukka school collapsed for 139. In reply, the visitors notched up the required runs with ease.

Isiwara Dissanayake made the top score of 64 runs for Royalists.

In another game in the same age group and division two, Royalists beat St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa by 89 runs in Colombo.

Batting first, the Royalists scored 153 runs with Uvindu Weerawardane scoring 50. Thanushka Lakshan claimed 5 for 31. In reply, the Sebastianites were bowled out for 64 runs with Dan Podiwela capturing 5 for 17.
