Last year, Kandy SC won the first leg and pulled out from the second leg. Some of the top players seen at practices are Danushka Dayan, Roshan Weeraratne, Kavindu Perera, Nigel Ratwatte, Danushka Ranjan, Jayson Dissanayake, Sanja Bandara, Anuradha Wilware and Thilina Wijesinghe. Lewke will give advice on how to improve sports performance or what makes good sportsmen. It will cover three topics: (1) To improve their technique or skill level. Whatever the sport, you need to really practice the fundamentals and improve your basic skills. (2) To be a student of the strategies of the game. That comes from looking outside yourself and at the sport as a whole. (3) To take care of sportsmen away from the field of play with proper nutrition, getting enough rest, taking care of your body by stretching, and doing things like that.

Antonian cricket back in form

Most of the Antonians are happy over their cricket team’s performance last season. A big hand should go to their new coach Suneth Gunatilake. According to their old boys, he is capable of bringing back the school to its former glory. In the last couple of years though they won a few games, they failed to do well. With the backing of the principal Rev. Fr. Henry Wijerathne and the Old Antonians cricket wing, they have a long term plan for cricket development. Last season they played 15 games out of which seven have been outright wins and four on first innings.
