Holy Cross College, Kalutara boys athletics team and Kalutara Balika National school Girls athletic team emerged overall champions in their Western Province Kalutara education zonal Inter-schools athletic meet 2019. which was held on 19th 20th and 21st June 2019 at the Vernon U Fernando sports complex, Kalutara.
This event was successfully organized by the education ministry under the guidance of the kalutara education zonal Director O.M.V. Priyani Mudalige kalutara education divisional assistant sports director Dimuth Surangi Lokuge and Panadura education divisional sports director Kanthsri Meegamuge with the help of the kalutara education zonal sports unit officials. and more than 3000 school Boy’s and Girls participated in this competition they gathered from all parts of the kalutara education zonal.
The first three (first place second place and third placed) have been selected for the upcoming western province education zonal athletic meet 2019 at Sugathadasa Stadium Colombo (date’s not confirmed).

Boy’s categories event’s
Kalutara Holy cross college boy’s athletic team was crowned as champions in the western province kalutara education zonal 2019 with 111 points meanwhile the Beruwala education divisional Maggona Magalkanda Buddhist Kanista Vidyalaya athletic team captured runner up position with 65 points and Panadura education divisional Sri Sumangala boy’s school athletic team was placed third with 48 points.
Girls categories event’s
Kalutara Balika National school Girls athletic team crowned as Overall champions in the western province kalutara education zonal athletic meet 2019 with 108 points while the Panadura education divisional Panadura Good Shepherd Convent athletic team and Sri Sumangala Girls athletic team emerged second and third with 101 and 53 points respectively.
