Superb century by Yosen Gimhana

A superb knock of 116 runs by Yosen Gimhana guided Pagngnananda Vidyalaya Kahapla Madapatha Piliyandala to beat more fancied St. Benedicts College, Kotahena in their inter school under 13 division three tournament cricket match conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association and played at Muthuwella. Pagngnanda Vidyalaya is coached by former Kottawa Ananda Vidyalaya Cricketer Sumith Ranasinghe.

Yosen hit fifteen fours and five sixes and occupied the crease for 137 minutes and faced 60 balls and his school was able to beat strong Bens by 83 runs on first innings.

Batting first Bens were all out for 145 runs with Nethmika Fernando scoring an unbeaten 72 runs while Omal Punsara claimed 3 for 36.

In reply at the close visitors made 228 runs with Oluka Perera capturing three wickets for 6 runs.

St. Benedicts 145 in 48.3 overs (Nethmika Fernando 72 n/o, Deshaka Dias 18, Mudith Heshan 2/24, Omal Punsara 3/36, Pathum Sathsara 2/30.

Pagngnanda Vidyalaya 228 in 34.5 overs (Shaluka Gimhana 34, Yosen Gimhana 116, Dineth Chashika 3/15, Oluka Perera 3/6).
