SLC Major Emerging League commences

Sri Lanka Cricket commenced a Major Emerging League Tournament yesterday that will serve as a guideline for selections of youth from the domestic youth tournaments to the Major Emerging League and offers a pathway to First Class Level.

The matches will be of two-days duration with 22 major clubs (Tier A and B) and two under 19 invitation teams taking part.

Teams are divided into 8 groups with every team playing with each other in the same group once.

Group leaders will qualify for the knock-out stage – quarters, semis and the Final. The tournament will run from November 5 to 26.

A special condition is that there should be a minimum of 7 players who are under 23 years of age, born on or after 1 November 1995 in the playing 11.
