A match bag of 8 for 77 (3 for 33 and 5 for 44) by right arm leg spinner Chamath Gamaariya helped Sri Palee College, Horana to record an outright win over Wanduramba Central College, Baddegama by three wickets in their Under 19 Division Three Inter-School Cricket Tournament match played at Sri Palee Grounds recently.
Batting first the visitors were bundled out for 159 in 63 overs M. Tharindu scored 40, G.K. Ranamayura and Y. Deshan made 36 and 28 runs respectively. Chamath Gamaariya, D. Anupamal and I. Pathum claimed 3 wickets each for 33, 35 and 43 runs respectively.
Suresh Kaushan scored a brilliant century for the homesters and they made 216 runs in reply to the visitors total of 159. S. Ravindu and T. Dananjaya claimed two wickets each for 20 and 39 respectively.
G.K. Ranamayura made 53 runs for the visitors in their second essay while M. Tharindu and Yasith with 28 and 30 respectively made useful contributions Chamath Gamaariya bagged 5 wickets for 44 while I. Pathum and D. Anupamal claimed two wickets each for 63 and 40 respectively.
The Palians reached the target of 98 for seven wickets in 15.2 overs with Suresh Kaushan making 23 while Senal bagged 3 for 32 and T. Kaushal claimed 2 for 34.
