Homagama Central College entered into the final of the ‘Singer Trophy’ Under 17 division III inter schools cricket tournament when they beat Christ King College Ja-Ela by 24 runs in the semi final at St. Sebastian’s College ground Moratuwa yesterday.
Homagama Central College will meet St. Joseph’s College Colombo ‘B’ in the final at Thurstan ground on next Thursday (30).
Match was delay started due to ground wet condition and restricted to 40 overs per side.
Homagama Central batted fisrt and scored 115 runs for 9 wickets in 40 overs.
Sajith Chaturanga scored 29 runs and Madhura Neelanuwan scored 26 runs.
Madushanka Fernando took 3 wickets for 15 runs and Malinda Perera took 2 wickets for 19 runs.
Christ King were bowled out for 91 runs in 25.2 overs. Sandaruwan Silva scored 47 runs. Thivanka Lakruwan took 5 wickets for 5 runs and Sajith Chaturanga took 3 wickets for 28 runs.
