Akkaraipattu BBB SC limited over cricket champions

Badur Boom Boys (BBB) Sports Club, Akkaraipattu beat New Star Sports Club, Addalaichenai by 11 runs in the final to emerge champions and bagged the ‘Beach Mega Night Trophy -2017’ of the limited overs flood-lit cricket match conducted by Addalaichenai New Star Sports Club at the Beach Play Grounds, Addalaichenai recently.

Addalaichenai New Star Sports Club President and Principal M.I.M. Riyas organized the tournament to mark the completion of 37 years of the club sponsored by Sanoos Sports Corner, Addalaichenai. Altogether 52 prominent sports clubs of the region took part in the tournament.

Akkaraipattu BBB Sports Club won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 43/5 in their allocated 5 overs. In reply Addalaichenai New Star Sports Club, scored 32 runs for loss of 5 wickets in the 5 overs.

Eastern Province Health Minister A.L.M.Nazeer, Eastern Provincial Councilor A.L.Thavam and Ceylon Transport Board Eastern Province Chief Regional Manager A.L. Siddique participated as the guests at the award ceremony. Champions BBS SC were awarded Rs.25,000.00 cash prize and trophy by the guests and the runner up New Star SC was awarded Rs.15,000.00.

Man of the match was M.Feros of BBB SC, Akkaraipattu while Man of the Series Mohamed Feros of the BBB SC, Akkaraipattu and Rishad of New Star SC, Addalaichenai.
