Highlights of Bradby Shield First Leg

Royal skipper Ovin Askey is being congratulated by Marketing Director of Singer (Sri Lanka) Kumar Samarasinghe just before awarding the Singer League Champions trophy after Royal beat Trinity 22-17 in the first leg of the Bradby Shield watched by Royal principal B.A Abeyratne.

Royal College, Colombo clinched the Singer League Rugby Title by beating Trinity College, Kandy by 22 points to 17 in the first leg of the 73rd Bradby Shield Encounter played at Pallekelle Rugby Stadium on Saturday. This is the fourth occasion in the last ten years that Royal has won the Singer League Rugby title having done so earlier in 2009, 2011 and 2015.

The second leg of the Bradby Shield will be played at the Royal Sports Complex on June 3.
