Debarawewa NS, Ananda, Trinity, Thurstan, Dharmaraja win

Debarawewa National School, Ananda College, Trinity College Kandy, Thurstan College and Dharmaraja College Kandy won their matches in the first round of the Singer Trophy Under 17 division 1 inter-schools cricket tournament yesterday.

Debarawewa National School beat St. Thomas College Matara by 2 runs at Uyanwatte stadium Matara, Ananda College beat Gurukula College Kelaniya by 17 runs at Mahara, Trinity College Kandy beat St. Anne’s College Kurunegala at Kurunegala, Thurstan College beat Maris Stella College Negombo by 24 runs according to Parabola system at Thurstan ground and Dharmaraja College Kandy beat St. Anthony’s College Kandy by 13 runs according to Parabola system at Lake View Kandy.

RESULTS:

* At Mahara: Ananda won by 17 runs.

Ananda: 118 in 46.5 overs (Kanishka Ranthilakge 30, Kavindu Sandaruwan 3/26, Likshan Sasanga 2/22)

Gurukula: 101 in 45.4 overs (Nuwantha Madhushan 24, Deneth Pramodya 3/19, Dasun Senevirathne 2/16, Nadeesha Karunarathne 2/25)

* At Uyanwatte: Debarawewa NS won by 2 runs.
